Cornelius Yalamu

Graphic Designer - Left Foot

Welcome to Cornnie's Cornner:

Cornelius P. Yalamu (aka - Datii) is an artist, a graphic and multimedia designer through his left foot.

Cornelius was born on the 20th of April 2005 with a medical condition known as Cerebral Palsy.  Despite his limitations to move around freely, Cornnie challenged himself to be active at home by exploring his creativity. He hopes to be a productive contributor to the socio-economic development of where he lives in future. He wants to put a smile on everyone's face by giving hope to them.

Cornelius had never gone to any formal school however he can read and write. He spends much of his time at home with his mom learning how to read and write using learning kits that his parents bought and crafted. He learned to read sentences by participating in family's Sunday services.

With a lot of positive motivation, support and advice from his parents, Cornnie had dedicated his time to his computers. Inspired by his dad and motivated by both his parents, he pushes himself every moment.  He had gained a lot of knowledge through self-discovery and assisted learning with the help from his parents and wanted to encourage his peers to be positive in life.
In spite of challenges that he had faced with accessibility and inadequate support for people living with disability, Cornnie's story is one of many that can educate us of hidden capabilities we abled people do not utilise.

This website (designed in early 2017) is a product of Cornnie's long hours of commitment to shape his craft.

2018 UPDATE:
Fortunately, Cornelius is now with his parents in Australia accompanying his dad who is studying there. He is able to attend formal school for the first time after twelve years schooling at home. Currently, Cornelius' friends and family are doing fund-raising to help with his medical expenses in Australia. His dad painted some artworks as part of this fund-raising which can be found on the following LINK.
